A Point of Salesperson (POSP) is a category of insurance intermediary recognised and regulated by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI). POSPs are trained individuals who are authorised to facilitate the sale of specific insurance products on behalf of licensed insurers.
Unlike a full insurance agent, a POSP role has a lower entry barrier — making it accessible to a wider range of individuals who wish to participate in the insurance sector on a part-time or supplementary basis.

Eligibility Criteria
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Class 10 (SSC) pass or equivalent
- Completion of IRDAI-mandated POSP training (15 hours)
- Basic smartphone and internet access
- Valid government-issued ID and PAN card
